Chapter Eight

Kraigan returned from his duties, sweaty, sore, and in need of a bath. He smiled as he looked about and did not see Jason anywhere within the landing rooming. Even when he’d been flying above, preparing to come down, he hadn’t spotted the man, but now that he could look around with his human eyes, this confirmed it.

Jason had stayed in their shared room.

Kraigan smirked.

It was stupidly dangerous of him to be thinking about the man at all. It was a distraction when he should have been paying close attention to the dangers around him, but the flight had been quiet. No signs of intruders on their land. The humans had been scared off back to their village.

And that meant there was nothing for him to do but spend hours of his time circling, keeping himself in the air and thinking about Jason, back in their chambers, lying on their shared bed, and moaning in the agony of not having Kraigan there to take care of him.

His dick had hardened, and had it not been for the fact that dragons, when in their beastly form, could hide their manhoods beneath their scales, then he was certain he would have made quite the sight, flying about with his long cock hanging in the wind.

The thought made a small laugh burst from his mouth before he could stop it.

He brought his hand to his mouth, as though he could stuff the noise back inside, but of course, he could not.

Being with Jason, even for the short amount of time they had been together, was making Kraigan into a fool. A love-sick fool who thought of foolish thoughts and behaved like an even bigger fool when he should have been paying attention to his duties.

He would need to rectify this. He would need to go to Jason and give the man the relief he surely needed, and Kraigan would take his own relief in return. That should be enough to settle the monster inside of him.

He reached for a robe to dry himself with and settle around his shoulders. He barely had the thing tied around his waist before a figure appeared in the doorway.

Kraigan looked at the man and then looked away. “If you are waiting for the others, Lightning comes down in an hour. Javick will be finished the hour after that.”

Tatsu merely stared at him, his arm in a sling, and his complexion not quite as pale as it had been when Kraigan flew him back down to the nest for his treatment.

“I’m not looking to speak with the others. I wanted to see you.”

Something heavy sank to the bottom of Kraigan’s stomach. He did not wish to have this conversation with the man. Not now. Not ever.

“I’ll not change my mind about Jason, Tatsu. I’ve mated with him. It’s done.”

“I know.”

Kraigan’s eyes widened at that. He never took his gaze away from the man’s face. He couldn’t. That would be a sign of weakness. It would belittle him to this man before him who had insulted him and his mate again and again.
